Redditch UPS Maintenance Visits

    Dear all,

    Please be advised that planned UPS maintenance will be taking place at our Redditch facilities.

    This maintenance is required to ensure the continued reliability and performance of the UPS systems, which support critical power resilience across both sites.

    During the maintenance windows, the UPS units will be switched to bypass. This means each feed will be at risk while the associated UPS maintenance is being carried out. Please note that both feeds will not be worked on at the same time.

    The work will include routine inspection, testing, and servicing of the UPS equipment. We do not anticipate any disruption to normal operations; however, there will be a reduced level of resilience while each UPS is in bypass.

    Our affected PNI and NNI's are back online

    We are aware that a number of our PNI and NNI ports in London have gone down. Following further investigation, this appears to be related to an issue at the Global Switch data centre in Docklands.

    While we do not work directly with Global Switch, some carriers may route through that facility to reach our core PoPs, including Equinix, Telehouse and Digital Realty.

    Traffic currently appears stable, and we do not anticipate any capacity issues at this stage. Some BT Wholesale broadband sessions may have dropped and moved over to another NNI.

    We are relying on colleagues across the industry for further information on what has impacted Global Switch and will provide updates as more details become available.

    During this window we will be performing a software upgrade on the following router in PoP Digital Realty/Interxion LON1:

    core1-ixn.lon.as3170.net  

    Customers with services fed directly from core1-ixn will experience a brief outage of approximately 15 minutes during this window as we switch
    master/backup status between the redundant routing-engines.

    Wholesale connectivity customers connected to lns2-ixn will see PPP sessions drop and re-connect on other LNS routers in our network during this window.

    We will also re-balance some PPP sessions on other LNS routers post successful completion of the software upgrade.  


    Other external connectivity such as peering and transit will be re-routed to alternative paths cleanly before the outage.

CityFibre - Reports of Issues in Milton Keynes

    CityFibre have implemented a fix for this incident. We have had the following response:

    "We are aware of an unexpected period of intermittency/dropping sessions affecting many services in Milton Keynes. Services should be restored to normal working order shortly, over the next hour, as a fix has been implemented. If there are further issues after this time please let us know."

    National Grid have informed us that they will be carrying out planned maintenance on their equipment supplying our Redditch datacentre.

    As part of this maintenance window, we will take the opportunity to conduct a controlled simulation of a full mains power failure at the facility on Friday 22nd May 2026 from 15:00 , lasting for approximately 1 hour.

    This test is designed to validate the resilience and performance of our backup power infrastructure under live conditions. Our generators and UPS systems will support the site throughout the exercise, and we have ample fuel reserves available onsite.

    Our team will remain onsite for the entire duration of the test to closely monitor all systems and respond immediately to any issues should they arise.

    No service interruption is expected; however, we are issuing this notification in the interest of transparency and operational best practice.
