Wholesale Connectivity
Services have remained stable since the previous update. Separate to this incident, this router is due to be upgraded with newer routing-engines. This work will now be prioritised and will be scheduled as a new maintenance window, to be announced in due course.
We apologise for the disruption to service.
We've identified an issue with the primary routing-engine in core1-dc1, the core router in VLX1. We have manually switched mastership to the backup routing-engine without graceful-switchover which has caused all protocols to flap and re-converge on this router.Services have now recovered and the router is stable, however if you are still experiencing issues please get in touch.
We've been advised this is a fibre break within the Carrier network and a team have been assembled to identify works required to repair the cable.
We are currently investigating this incident. All services remain online at this time, but connectivity to Velox3 should be considered as 'at-risk'
We are seeing a number of other reports from others in the industry relating to this affecting one carrier. We are waiting to hear back as to what the fault is and an estimated time of repair.
All work has now been completed. The UPS is online and protecting the load once more.
Following our planned preventative maintenance visit by our UPS manufacturer, they have identified a number of battery modules that are no longer fit for purpose and need to be replaced.
We have sourced the batteries sooner than expected and plan to replace these on the date and time specified under an emergency maintenance window to avoid any unplanned service outage.
The unit will be put into bypass while work is carried out. We don’t anticipate any interruption to service but any equipment supplied by UPSA or the A Feed should be considered as at risk.
